Paintings
These works are primarily around the subject of Still Life. An investigation of shapes, edges and the spaces in-between, abstract interpretations of form, colour, light and perspective using familiar objects and how they exist in a composition in relation to each other.
Painting in acrylic has an immediacy in the decision making and enables me to create spontaneous qualities of texture and gesture.
I’m influenced by a mid century aesthetic and particularly admire British painters of this era from William Scott to Winifred Nicholson.
