Textiles
I make a range of my own pieces using mainly vintage fabrics or linen with silkscreen prints. l make framed textile art work and printed functional domestic pieces, with motifs that are simple graphic representations of objects relating to the function of each piece. They aim to encourage the viewer to think about the relationship between form, function and design in everyday objects they have a familiar relationship with.
These are hand printed by me in small limited edition batches and usually available in my winter Artists Open House.
*Unless specified as sold all these prints are available. Please contact me for enquiries and sales.
Embroidered Textiles
My embroidered textile work references the utility era, ‘make do and mend’. l’m interested in the history around domestic rituals such as ‘wash day’ and ‘taking tea’, and the stories of textiles like ‘Grandma’s button box’ using found or cherished materials.
l currently teach a variety of textiles and print courses part time (both adult & children) For more information, go to my courses page.
